Since 1982, Motonáutica Ibiza has been part of the nautical history of Ibiza and Formentera. What began as a family-owned company dedicated to the world of boating has grown into a trusted name in yacht charter, boat sales, maintenance, and marine services throughout the islands
In the early 1980s, Mariano Torres Arabí, the son of a traditional mestre d’aixa (master boatbuilder), turned his focus toward recreational boating after spending several years working for the shipping agency Marítima del Mediterráneo and establishing the nautical division of Motos Ibiza. Following the closure of that business, he and his wife, Fina Díaz, founded what is now Motonáutica Ibiza in February 1982.
For more than four decades, we have helped thousands of sailors, residents, and visitors discover the beauty of Ibiza and Formentera from the sea.
Our journey has been built on a simple philosophy: providing professional, personal service based on a deep understanding of the sea and the unique needs of every client.
In the early 1990s, we opened our office in Ibiza Nueva Harbour (now known as Marina Ibiza) in order to provide a better service to our boat rental clients in Ibiza.
More than a boat rental company
Unlike many businesses focused exclusively on charter services, Motonáutica Ibiza was founded and developed as a complete nautical company.
Over the years, we have expanded our expertise in boat rentals, new and pre-owned boat sales, maintenance, repairs, and marine consultancy, becoming a trusted reference for those who live, work, and enjoy life at sea in Ibiza.
This experience, accumulated over more than 40 years, allows us to offer a level of knowledge, reliability, and customer care that is difficult to match in an ever-evolving industry.

More than four decades after our foundation, we continue to approach every season with the same enthusiasm and passion that inspired us in 1982.
Following the passing of Mariano Torres in 2020 and the retirement of Fina Díaz in 2022, their son, Marc Torres, took over the leadership of the company as Managing Director, heading a team of 12 professionals.
We remain committed to investing in new boats, improved services, and innovative solutions to offer the best boating experiences in Ibiza and Formentera, while staying true to the values that have guided us from the beginning: passion for the sea, professionalism, and close attention to every client.
